The Future of THE NYSC
To say that expectations for the future of the Club are high would
be an understatement. Club leaders want the New York Script Club
name to be recognized throughout the industry and to have a reputation
for its member’s writing quality screenplays.
Troy and Steven (the Club’s Co-President) plan to expand the Club
outside of New York City, with the goal of having a New York Script
Club branch in every major city in the country. They are working
on a curriculum that will serve as a leadership guide for the expanded
groups. Deals are also being made to attach a management aspect
to the Club so that when a member produces a top-quality screenplay,
that member will already have an avenue for getting that screenplay
out to studio executives. The goal is a lofty one, to say the least:
when a studio executive receives a screenplay that has the New York
Script Club seal of approval, we want that executive to pay it particular
attention.
